Ableton heeft Live 9 aangekondigd voor het eerste kwartaal van 2013. Een presentatie van alle features staat nu op de website van Ableton.
Tot de meest aansprekende verbeteringen behoren de opname van automatisering in Session View, de nieuwe Glue compressor, een complete vernieuwing van de EQ Eight equaliser met verbeterde filters, vernieuwing van de gebruikersinterface van de compressor waarbij de invloed op het geluid beter in beeld wordt gebracht, een nieuwe browser, Drums-to-MIDI en Harmony to MIDI, waarmee je ideeën voor liedjes kunt inzingen en converteren naar midi, en Max for Live zit inclusief een convolution reverb standaard in de Live 9 Suite.
