Line 6 heeft de Mobile In gitaarinterface aangekondigd voor iPad en iPhone 4. Bijzonder aan deze interface is dat deze wordt aangesloten op de digitale 30 pins-connector. Dit in tegenstelling tot andere gitaarinterfaces als iRig van IK Multimedia of de nieuwe iXZ audio-interface van Tascam. De laatsten maken gebruik van de gecombineerde hoofdtelefoon-/ microfooningang van de iPad en iPhone. Daarbij laat het geluid nogal wat te wensen over, meldt Create Digital Music.
Bij de Mobile In wordt de gitaarinput direct omgezet naar een digitaal signaal. In potentie zou dit product daarom een beter geluid moeten geven dan de concurrerende interfaces die via de hoofdtelefooningang worden aangesloten. Helaas ben je met de Mobile In voor de output nog wel afhankelijk van de hoofdtelefoonaansluiting.
Mobile In biedt ondersteuning voor CoreAudio, zodat je opnames kunt maken in iOS-sequencers als Garageband. De interface wordt geleverd inclusief de app Mobile POD met 64 gemodelleerde versterkers en effecten.
Mobile In en Mobile POD worden eind dit jaar uitgebracht, meldt rekkerd.org. De prijs is vastgesteld op $80, dus reken in verband met de hogere BTW voor Europa maar op ongeveer €80.

Mobile In and Mobile POD are to be shipped in fall this year, reports rekkerd.org. The price is set at $ 80, so the price in Europe will be around the € 80 due to the higher VAT.
