De Franse softwaremaker XILS-lab heeft een “pre-versie” van zijn synthesizer Synthix gelanceerd. Voor de vroege vogels is er nu tot 21 juli een interessante group buy, waarbij je een flinke korting kunt krijgen op deze nieuwe VST-plug-in. XILS-lab belooft aan de deelnemers van de group buy zo snel mogelijk met versie 1.0 te komen, waaruit alle bugs zijn gladgestreken.
Synthix is geïnspireerd op de Synthex, een analoge synthesizer die in de jaren ’80 werd geproduceerd. De Synthex schijnt een erg goede synthesizer te zijn geweest voor pads, drones en leads. Artiesten als Stevie Wonder en Jean Michel Jarre zouden er op hebben gespeeld. Of XILS-lab in zijn opzet is geslaagd kun je nu checken met de dongelvrije demoversie.
De cpu-belasting is waarschijnlijk vrij stevig en vergelijkbaar met die van de PolyKB II.
