Hollow Sun gooit deze maand zijn samplebibliotheek Polivoks in de aanbieding voor $1 (€0,75). De samples zijn opgenomen van de Polivoks, een obscure analoge synthesizer die begin jaren tachtig in de Sovjet-Unie door de technicus Vladimir Kuzmin is ontwikkeld om een tegenwicht te bieden aan het synthesizergeweld uit het Westen.
De Polivoks was volgens Hollow Sun een vrij standaard, maar gebrekkig ontwerp. De synthesizer geeft een geluid dat typisch is voor de jaren tachtig en is te gebruiken voor bassen en leads (solo’s).

This month Hollow Sun sells its Polivoks sample library for only $1 (€0,75). The samples are recorded from the Polivoks, an odd, mysterious analogue synthesizer from the Soviet Union which was developed in the eighties by the engineer Vladimir Kuzmin in order to offer an alternative for the synthesizers from the Western world.
According to Hollow Sun, the Polivoks has a fairly standard design but is brash and unstable. It gives a typical eighties sound which is great for basses and leads, mentions Hollow Sun.
