In deze video laat hij zien hoe hij zijn hit (mede?) maakte met behulp van samples in Reason.Last summer the Belgian artist Stromae had a massive hit with his song Alors on Danse. In this interview he tells and shows how he (entirely?)made his dance hit with some sampled sounds in Reason.

Steinberg heeft vandaag Cubase 6 uitgebracht. De audiobewerking is verbeterd. Verder zijn een paar nieuwe vst-instrumenten en effecten aan het arsenaal toegevoegd. Maar de meest interessante toevoeging is misschien wel de VST Expression 2-technologie.Today Steinberg has released Cubase 6. The audio editing is enhanced and vst instruments and effects are added. Akai introduceert de multifunctionele SynthStation49 midi-keyboard voor de iPad. Dit keyboard ziet er niet zo portabel uit, maar lijkt wel zeer goed speelbaar met de grote toetsen en knoppen. Akai richt zich hiermee op de thuismuzikant of de artiest die graag live-performances geeft met de iPad. Het komt vaak voor dat applicaties worden “gepoort” van pc naar iPad of iPhone, maar bij de bleep!BOX is het juist omgekeerd. Deze drumcomputer/synthesizer is al een tijdje beschikbaar voor de mobiele apparaten van Apple en is sinds kort beschikbaar als vst-plugin. Most of the time applications are converted from pc to iPad or iPhone, but bleep!BOX is different. This drumcomputer/ synthesizer is already available for a while for Apple’s mobile devices. Recently the vst version of bleep!BOX is released for pc and Mac.

Propellerhead Software has released Dr. Octo Rex Guitar Collection, a free ReFill with guitar loops for Reason 5. The ReFill contains 355 acoustic and electric guitar loops with different chords in 10 styles.

Feeltune heeft Rhizome gelanceerd, een pc die is geoptimaliseerd voor muzikanten. Rhizome was een van de hoogtepunten van de MusikMesse 2010 en de toekomst van groovemachines, jubelt Gearjunkies. De machine ziet er op het oog indrukwekkend uit met vier ingebouwde displays, veel knoppen en drumpads. Feeltune has released Rhizome, a pc optimized for musicians. Rhizome was one of the highlights of the MusikMesse 2010 and the future of groove machines, states Gearjunkies. The machine looks impressive with the four build in displays, lots of buttons and the drum pads.

Cakewalk heeft Sonar X1 gisteren geïntroduceerd. De sequencerproducent mag zich verheugen op een grote belangstelling gezien het feit dat hun server momenteel de vraag maar nauwelijks aankan. De concurrentie staat ook niet stil. Image-Line komt met een interessante group buy via de netwerksite Facebook. Deelnemers aan de group buy kunnen een korting krijgen tot 50 procent op de sequencer FL Studio Producer Edition en Fruity Edition. Bovendien krijgen zij net als de reguliere kopers van deze downloadbare pakketten ook eventuele toekomstige updates gratis. Bij Image-Line werken ze hard aan FL Studio 10. De pas uitgebrachte FL Studio 9.7 Betaversie laat weer een paar interessante nieuwe features zien. De meest opvallende tools zijn Pitcher en Newtone, waarmee de toonhoogte van bijvoorbeeld zang kan worden aangepast. En daarmee is er weer een nieuwe host waarmee gebruikers standaard het Cher-effect kunnen toepassen.Image-Line is working hard on FL Studio 10. The just released FL Studio 9.7 Beta version shows a few interesting features, with Pitcher and Newtone as the most important additions. These tools let the user harmonize or change the pitch of audio, for example on vocals. Again with these new features there is a host with a standard Cher effect on board.

Uvi.net heeft ElectroBeats gelanceerd, een drummachine voor de iPhone, iPad en iPod Touch. Voor het geluid van deze drummachine tekent niemand minder dan David Guetta, een van de populairste DJ’s van dit moment. Het aardige is dat ElectroBeats ook de drumgeluiden bevat die Guetta heeft gebruikt voor de single Who’s that chick van Rihanna.Uvi.net has released ElectroBeats, a drummachine for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. David Guetta, one of today’s most popular DJ’s, is responsible for the sounds of this app. A nice detail is that ElectroBeats also has the drum sounds that Guetta used for Rihanna’s song Who’s that chick.
