Naast al het commerciële geweld op de Musikmesse valt deze week ook nog wat gratis te halen. Het Franse Heptode heeft de VST-effecten Deep Crunch en Heavy Tone gratis beschikbaar gemaakt via zijn website. De effecten zijn virtuele versies van twee Heptode effectenpedalen voor gitaristen.
Deep Crunch en Heavy Tone zijn zeer goed bruikbaar en klinken behoorlijk overtuigend als je ze op een gitaargeluid zet. Dit geluid moet dan wel mono zijn.
Volgens Heptode is het zeer lastig om de analoge componenten van de hardwarepedalen te emuleren. Daarvoor heb je echt de pedalen zelf nodig, die je eventueel tussen je gitaar en de input van de geluidskaart kunt prikken.

The VST versions of the pedals are very useful and sound pretty convincing when feed a guitar sound through them. The feeded sound must be mono.
According to Heptode it is very difficult to emulate the analog components of the hardware versions. Eventually you can plug the real thing into the soundcard input.
