Tone2 heeft RayBlaster aangekondigd, een nieuwe VST synthesizer plug-in. Deze synthesizer maakt volgens Tone2 gebruik van Impulse Modeling Synthesis. Dat klinkt interessant, maar wat dit doet is nog niet geheel duidelijk. In ieder geval beweert Tone2 dat met deze techniek vele verschillende filters zijn na te bootsen. Tone2 has announced RayBlaster, a new VST synthesizer plug-in. This synthesizer uses Impulse Modeling Synthesis for sound creation. That sounds interesting, but what it does is not so clear. Tone2 claims that this technique can emulate many different filters.

Synapse Audio heeft Antidote gelanceerd, een Rack Extension voor Reason. Deze synthesizer ziet er op het oog misschien eenvoudig uit door de lekker compacte interface, maar vergis je niet: hij klinkt fantastisch.Synapse Audio has launched Antidote, a Rack Extension for Reason. Borderlands is vorige week uitgebracht voor de iPad. Deze zogenaamde granular synthesizer maakt geluid van kleine stukjes audio. Borderlands is released for the iPad last week. This granular synth makes sounds with small bits of audio.

D16 Group heeft vandaag LuSH-101 uitgebracht. De VST-plug-in biedt maar liefst 8 (dezelfde) synthesizers in één, tenminste, als je CPU het aankan. Phonec van Psychic Modulation is alweer een maand uit, maar is te bijzonder om niet te vermelden. Deze synthesizer heeft een karakteristiek geluid dat direct aan de band Boards of Canada doet denken. De interface van Phonec ziet er eenvoudig uit, maar biedt wel veel mogelijkheden om het geluid te vervormen. Psychic Modulation’s Phonec has been released for almost a month now, but it is too special not to mention. This synthesizer has a characteristic sound which reminds directly of the band Boards of Canada. Phonec’s interface looks simple, but offers many opportunities to sculpt the sound.

Melodo is een inspirerende VST-plug-in waarmee muzikanten rechtstreeks midi-bestanden kunnen uitwisselen terwijl zij werken in hun digitale audiowerkstation, bijvoorbeeld Cubase, Logic of andere VST-hostingsoftware.
